ASPEN hosts Soup to End the Silence Fundraiser on March 31st.

ASPEN (Abuse Support & Prevention Education Network) in Livingston will host its 7th Annual Soup to End the Silence Fundraiser on March 31st at the Depot Center. Adult price is $15 per person and $10 per child age 6 years and up, Free for children age 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased by calling ASPEN at 222-5902 or at the event.

The event will feature soups, breads, and desserts donated by local restaurants, music by Dave Eaton, roaming magicians, a cash beer & wine bar, and a silent auction and raffle featuring items from local businesses and artisans. The End the Silence survivor group from Bozeman will highlight their stories of abuse and how ultimately they were able to escape their abusers and rebuild their lives.

“ASPEN relies on the support of the community in order to grow and offer new programs and services, and to retain its dedicated staff and committed volunteers.” Barrett said. “We invite the public to attend this fun event, learn more about how ASPEN is making a difference in the lives of families in our community and across the region, and to support our work with a financial contribution. Reality shows us how important ASPEN’s services are—literally, we save people’s lives.”

ASPEN’s mission is to provide support services to victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence and empower them to create safe and healthy lives for themselves and their families. ASPEN is also committed to breaking the cycle of violence by providing educational and awareness activities in the community.

In 2016, the organization provided nearly 2,000 individual services to victims and their families including: 1,252 nights of shelter. ASPEN answered 463 calls on our 24-hour support line. Other services provided included, crisis intervention, court accompaniment, safety planning, help with orders of protection, and community outreach and educational programs.
